Loan Me A Dime
LOAN ME A DIME
Zero Miles Band 1977
Story Behind the Song
I always thought this was one of the best blues songs ever, and the fact that it was recorded by Boz Scaggs with Duane Allman on guitar at Muscle Shoals didn't hurt either. I've been a fan of Boz since his Steve Miller days, and it was a big thrill to meet him a few years ago at a show in Pennsylvania in 2014.
The other photo includes me with my red 1995 Les Paul (the one that got away) and my long time partner in crime Randall Barbera.
At the time most of us lived in a band house in Bradford, NH and played all over New England. We used to close our shows with this one most of the time; this version leaves out the intro and still clocks in at over nine minutes, still less than the original, which was almost thirteen minutes long, presented here:
Boz Scaggs: Loan Me A Dime
Our recording has its technical deficiencies, but in general we weren’t too bad for northern white boys in our early twenties.
