Sisyphus Blues
I rolled the stone to the top of the hill
Then it rolled back down again
I rolled the stone to the top of the hill
It rolled back down again
Exercising futility
That’s how my days are spent
Woke up this morning, went to work again
Just like I did the day before
Woke up this morning, went to work again
Just like I did the day before
The same thing on a different day
It's the chain in life that I forged
Today is just like yesterday
Tomorrow’s gonna be like today
Today is just like yesterday
Tomorrow’s gonna be like today
It’s the stage of absurdity
My part in the play

Behind the Song
Sisyphus is the Greek mythological figure that was punished for his craftiness and deceitfulness by being forced to roll an immense boulder up a hill, only for it to roll down every time it neared the top, repeating this action for eternity. Maybe this is where we got the term "Rock and Roll"! I know I've had musical experiences (and other work-related monotony) that were just as frustrating.
Albert Camus (insert Alex Trebek pronunciation) wrote a book called The Myth of Sisyphus. The gods were wise, Camus suggested, in perceiving that an eternity of futile labor is a hideous punishment.
There's also a quote from Charles Dickens in the lyrics. Identify it and win a prize or something
